Guests were greeted to a deck filled with tables dressed in a variety of the brightest colors, Papel Picado Flags overhead, adorable and cheeky chalkboard signs at the base of the cheery florals and live guitar music to set the mood.

The taco bar was definitely just as popular as the cute donkey! By the end of the evening, not even a single chip was left!

Tacos + Tequila are always in style!

Not all wedding welcome parties are created equal. Many of them are held in lovely restaurants with cheerful yet subdued floral. Sometimes, we elevate the experience and bring in live music, specialty linens and custom menus and place settings. It’s even more satisfying to get creative with a fun theme!
In the sprit of Cinco De Mayo, I’m sharing this casual yet truly fun and cheery fiesta themed wedding welcome party I did for a client last summer at Stein Eriksen Lodge. It’s one of my favorites, and if you’re looking for wedding welcome party ideas, I definitely suggest tacos & tequila! Everyone loves a fiesta (especially when there’s a surprise miniature donkey) !

Welcome Parties are such a great opportunity to express your style, and while they vary on the level of “over the top”, even a simple theme with some elevated details really can take your party from fun to unforgettable!

On a whim, the wedding vendors decided to surprise the Bride with the appearance of a mini-donkey from a local ranch dressed up to party. The Bride loved her surprise and the adorable donkey was a hit and it just loved all the pets and attention!

Of course, no celebration is complete without a smore’s bar and it just so happens that the smore’s at Stein Eriksen Lodge are on the extra side of things so it was the perfect dessert to kick off the weekend!
